Carpet tiles or LVT in an office?
Carpet tiles for open-plan and meeting space, because they absorb sound, feel warmer underfoot and any damaged tile can be swapped individually. LVT for reception, circulation, tea points and anywhere that takes spills or wheeled traffic. Most floors we lay are a mix, with the change of material used to define the zones.
Why does the sub-floor matter so much?
Because every fault underneath telegraphs through to the surface. An unlevelled screed shows as ripples in LVT, and residual moisture in a slab will lift an adhesive bond and take the floor covering with it. Moisture testing and levelling are cheap next to relaying a floor a year later, so they are never the thing we cut.
Can flooring be replaced without emptying the office?
Yes, in zones. Furniture is lifted and shifted across a floor plate section by section, usually out of hours, and the area is handed back before the next one starts. It is slower and more expensive than an empty building, and for most occupied refurbishments it is still the right call.
How long before we can walk on a new floor?
Carpet tiles are usually walkable almost immediately and take furniture the same day. LVT and vinyl depend on the adhesive, and typically want a day before heavy point loads and wheeled traffic go on. Levelling compound and any moisture barrier need their own curing time before laying starts at all, which is why the preparation drives the programme.
Do you do the decoration as well?
Yes. Preparation, making good, feature walls, ceilings, doors and frames, all to a commercial spec. Doing the decoration and the flooring under one contractor also settles the argument about who damaged what, because it is the same team.
Can you match our brand colours on the walls?
Yes. Brand colours are matched to a paint reference and applied to a sample area for sign-off before we go round the floor, so what you approve on the wall is what you get. Printed graphics and vinyl wall applications are handled the same way.
